Money in America: The Struggle for Restoration and After
is an extended dissertation centered on the forgotten continuity of a tradition in American agrarian politico-economic thought. That continuity was a commitment to monetary sovereignty called 'Restoration,' a hundred-years struggle against banking corporations. In the wake of that tradition's eclipse, the domain of the American monetary system extended to encompass the world, and in doing so it subjected its constituent national economies to a transformative process of globalization, financialization, and dollarization. Without a deeper understanding of Restoration, our understanding of this tripartite process must remain incomplete. This work is partly a primer on economic theory, partly a history of the politico-economic conflicts determining the nature of the world's money, the US Dollar. Those interested can read the Preface, Introduction, and Table of Contents.
